Neither car is perfect-the comfortable Volvo is underpowered when compared with its competitive set, and it's too expensive. The Volkswagen, while a terrific value with a great engine, has too harsh a ride and a complex top that leads to considerable noise. For this test, though, the C70 gets our vote. While we'd like to see a more powerful engine offered at this price point, the Volvo is tops in comfort, ride, looks, and space, and makes time fly when you're on the road. When it comes down to it, the Volvo C70 is where you want to be with the top down, heading somewhere fabulous."
